I know it’s been a while since there’s been anything out of KFM, but we’re getting geared up to start recording shows again. Dean’s never left, I’ve been the flake of the outfit. I have some content that’s been in the can that I’ll post tomorrow, and maybe we’ll get a new show or two in production soon.
Check back soon!

In this episode, Dean and I have the pleasure of speaking to Don Stander of Durban, South Africa. We had a great time talking about the designs of their fishing skis (kayaks) and the guided trips that Don leads.

The guest on show #14 is Ken Larson from the Kayak Anglers Society of America. Ken’s group is a non profit organization that runs a number of programs to get people on the water. One program, the Collegiate Kayak Fishing Series, promotes the development of intercollegiate kayak sport fishing clubs across the country. Heroes on the Water is an attempt to bring the rehabilitative aspects of kayak angling to our American veterans who have suffered injury while serving our nation. Finally, Operation DesKaf is working to wards providing all the equip (kayks, paddles, rods, reels, etc) so that the troops in Iraq can have another option to spend their time off.

We’re finally back after a longer than expected downtime. Our guest on show #13 was Gary Lowe, my fishing guide in Vieques, Puerto Rico. We had a few technical issues throughout the show, but I think overall it came out pretty good. If you’re looking for an out of the way destination to do some fishing, I can’t recommend Vieques (and Gary) enough. It was a great place that I’m looking forward to visiting again.
This is a follow up to the write up I did on my Vieques fishing trip.

Dean posted pictures on TKF of a great day fishing. Thought I’d share the link so others could be jealous too! Here’s the TKF post.
Here’s another video from John Oast, this time he demonstrates how to install a flush mount rod holder on his kayak. Thanks for the video John!
